What is Literature Review?
A Literature Review is the review, which discusses published information in a particular subject area, and sometimes information in a particular subject area within a certain period of time. A Literature Review can just be a simple summary of sources. It also combines the summary and synthesis and often has an organizational pattern. Here it could be added that, a summary is a collection of the important information of the source. On the other hand, a synthesis is reorganization, or a reshuffling of that information. |
A new interpretation may come up of old material or it may combine new with the old interpretations. It may also trace the intellectual progression of the field, including the major debates.
